"Bratwurst mit brochen" is the first thing you must learn to speak in German dizzy. Then, grab some hot mustard and enjoy the music and don't get lost. Please keep IW updated and have fun!
My first night in Germany went alot better on a full stomach

And don't forget that beer is pronounced as in English (with another "r" but it doesn't really matter) and drinking age is 16/18 (regular drinks/booze)

Welcome aboard cruit. Grab your bags, and say goodbye.
There are only 2 divisions left here, so you will either go straight to Iraq. Or you will spend the next few months doing ITT training and go to Iraq next year to releive a heavy unit from the states. If you go now you will have about 7 months left. If you go later then you will do a full year tour! What is your MOS? Arrival date, and rank? Eine mal cordon bleu, mit pommes und eine beir, bitte. That will get you 1 cordon blue, fries, and a beer. A must have for any newcomer. The beir here is way different than anything stateside. Start with a light Pils, that will give you a low alcohol content of about 5%. An average beir is .5l half-litre. A light weisen will give you about 6%, and a hefe about 7.5%, they are good social beir's, but must be drunk with moderation. Do not get involved with the lets take the new guy out. You will end up praying to the porcelin god, and then have your PSG in your face. Not a good way to start a tour!

some language nitpicks:
it's "Einmal or Ein Mal" because German differs between genders for every single words (e.g. beer is neutral, wine is masculine, lemonade is feminine) and "einmal" means "one time" where time is neutral (while actual "time" as in what's the time is feminine). "Ein" is neutral, "Eine" is feminine . Have I confused you enough yet . German "ei" is somewhat like English "i" in "rice" or "mine" German "ie" is merely a long German "i" which is like English "i" in "kill" - so "ie" would equal English "e" or "ee" in "here" or "beer" and German "r" is somewhat different from English (it's harder) but same pronouciation for "beer" as in English will suit you fine. . Correct German spelling is "Wiesen" and "Bier" (both being neutral) . The correct sentence would therfore be: "Einmal Cordon Bleu mit Pommes und ein Bier bitte" . Yip that's me. Teacher all the way (Now please proceed to stone me if you like).
