Can there be only one great helm at any given moment in the game? Whenever I play the game from scratch it is always there in the treasure chest by the Mavin Sword in the Dragon Spire. But when I reset the adventure it is never there the second or third time. The Divine Chain of D'Soto is always there, however. Is the game bugging out on me or what?

I believe it's a random treasure, so its existence in a given treasure chest depends on a roll of the dice. I'm not sure if I've ever had it; I know I haven't seen it in a while...

I had a feeling that was the case. It is just strange then, that I have found it in the same chest four times.

The helm is a random treasure. AFAIK, there is no place in the game where you would always find the helm. Also, there is no limit on the number of the helms. It's a matter of the random number generator.

hey, then it's quite unfair! my brother also played W&W and he found 2 great helms after he got past brim, and all i found was a miserable NOTHING! is this a bug with the number generator, or is it juz plain absence of luck...?

It's only bad luck. Consider the average number of Great Helms you find during a game run and then consider the chance that you find none.
Does not matter. Search Helms of the Realm instead

Don't feel badly. I played through the game 4 times before finding a Wizard's Dagger (everyone had been finding them left and right). I then started a new game, only to find one on the Spectral Warrior in the Crypt!! (That's probably next to near perfect improbability). It's just the RNG...you never know what it's going to chunk out at you.

The wizard's dagger. Now there is an item I would like to find just once.

Sure ways to the Wizard's Blade.

- Always check all daggers dropped by centaurs. They often drop Wizard's Blades.
- The "treasure room" in Skull Castle. Both chests can contain a Wizard's Blade. Save. Open the chest. Reload. Open the chest... Check all daggers you find. It's only a matter of patience.
- Both chests at Cet. If they contain a dagger then it is almost surely a Wizard's Blade. Save. Open the chest... Again, the success is granted and you get the blade much sooner than in the treasure room.

Naturally, you can get your blade anywhere in Brimloch Roon. Most of chests can contain it. Not only centaurs can drop it.

Wow Sazerac !

That's good example why I identify all daggers from the beginning!
It doesn't need so high skill to identify daggers, and if you can't identify it,
it has some magical powers!

I did found my first dagger in my seacond game ( or first one that I played trought.. ) and in seacond game I found two 'Wizard's Blade' !

As Radek said: Try to find near Centaurs and Skull Castle.
There I did found my ones
