Sorry if I am bush bashing a bit but I guess this speech just brought back right in my face the reasons why I think he is a total dickhead.

Maybe he wasn't just trying, maybe he was proud?

Perhaps it can also be called pay back...and it might also be the not so subtle hint, that if you want to pee in our cheerios, we are more than capable of not only wiping you out, but all your friends and pals too. I think its about damn time we started acting a bit like the ogre that people are accusing us of being anyway...If they want to hate us, why not give them a damn good reason? And while we are at it...lets keep our foreign aid to ourselves too..we have homeless and underpriveledged here too...or maybe Im just being mean and self centered. Hey the europeans dont need us, the Soviet threat is gone and they have gone and formed their own union and even have the euro to help that along...and apparently the middle east don't need us or want us..except for Israel so we should arm them to the teeth even more than we have and give them unrestricted access to nukes..that ought to be fun....we dont really need the middle east right at the moment...it turns out there is an alternative source of oil that is at least equal to the middle east...its called RUSSIA the old USSR countries have vast reserves of oil just waiting for american capitalists to come in and buy......

Ok there see that is called rabid national pride and not a darn thing in there is really a bad idea, insulting or overly aggressive...it is actually giving a lot of peopole just what they want..no US interference with their internal issues. Break it all down and all I said is keep our money to ourselves and take our business elsewhere, the only thing that really was over the top was arming the israelies with more nukes than they already have...but hey the Muslims in the area would use them if they had them.

Ok now what kind of replys will I get to this?? Should be
interesting.\

Edit: Oops forgot to put in the most important part...Semantics can change the whole tenor of this post

Political Posturing and "Rah rah" speaches should be taken for a grain of salt. Having said that... I think he keeps bringing up this "evil" thing for a calculated reason... and I don't like it.

I think framing this in pseudo-religous terms is a thinly vieled attempt to get the kind of unconditional support that religous fanatics give. Very weak... but likely to strike a cord in "certain" segments of the population.

As an American I would ask you all to lay off the generalizations of Americans though, I've heard absolutely retarded speaches from heads of state everywhere... does that make them all "dickheads"? When your illustrius leaders stick their foot up their arse do you make the assumption that all your fellow men BELIEVE his bleating?

Another George W. Bush American standard...US have reduced Afghanistan into a MASSIVE pile of dust (but now recovering) and they think of deposing Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein. I think he's just trying to look 'secure' and 'tough'. Look at how he rants about 2002 being a 'war year'. Is he up to blow up a few nations or what?!

I hate to say this, but although our politicians (and they are fools), and many others make bad speeches, none of them (except for russia, but they have good speechmakers) has the power to destroy an entire country (or continent for that matter) with a word.

I think the reason for trashing Americans here, is that it seems they are trying to provoke a war, not promote world peace.

And we all love peace and 's ...RIGHT?

I wonder why it's so difficult for human beings to learn just to get along. Well, someday we'll just have to learn either to live together as brothers and sisters or perish together as fools.

A very wise saying that.

Having the power and using it that way are two entirely different things. IF you do believe that, shouldn't all the nations that have nuclear weapons be placed in this group? Are other nuclear nation's politicians less dangerous because they don't have as many weapons?

The belief we want war is just inaccurate. There is nothing to be gained from war for war's sake. There is something however to be gained from controlling terrorists ability to act.

Peace and love are great! They didn't keep the victims of September 11th or anyone else who has died at the hands of terrorism alive, but they are great

Provoking a war?? we don't provoke wars...we finish them (except for veitnam which is a whole different can of worms) The peace loving suicide bomber ragheads must have absolutley nothing to do with what we are doing in the middle east..they are just sitting there sending out terror squads to kill innocents and minding their own business when :BAM: the big bad USA comes in and bombs them all for nothing...hell we probably killed Kenny...us BASTARDS!

yeah it is no where near as good as say sending in cruise missiles to take out an asprin factory to divert attention from a blue stained dress.
