Jan vs. Yoshimo

I prefer Yoshimo since his trap-setting is very handy and he is a straight thief (already got two mages.)

Many rank Jan as the best thief in the game, coupled with his Illusionist skills he is a potent force.

Yoshimo though is more than capable, and is the only single classed thief in the game. If you beef up his trap laying you'll have a lot of fun too.

I'd keep Yoshimo for now if I were you. You can always grab Jan later if circumstances dictate the need.

I'd go for Jan, he can take nearly anyone out. Just hide in shadows and then backstab cast a few spells, use a few of his gadgets and throw a turnip at them and there dead.
Works every time........

I like Jan better, simply because of his dialogue! He has witticisms for just about every character/situation, including the end game!

I prefer Jan because his items make all his skills better than Yoshimo's excepyt for Hide in Shadows/Move Silently/Set Traps (and I don't use those much anyway unless scouting). Have you also noticed how you get more XP for some traps/locks if Yoshimo disarms them than the other thieves? Is that a bug?

I think the XP is dependant upon the type of lock rather than the type of thief.

I have noticed this exp points discrepancy too. When I 'beamed up' Artemis Entreri (what, cheat??? me??? NOO never!!) he got more or less double exp points for doing the same locks/traps as Yoshimo - I reloaded and tried with both characters, so verified the discrepancy was with the character, not the lock/trap difficulty. Haven't tried it with Jan though.
