Hazardous Times, Part VIII (All welcome)

[Galadria]

GALADRIA (She finishes off the wizard with a great stroke taking off his head, thinking, all that study's not helping you now, bucko. She turns to meet this new threataiming an over-the-shoulder cut at him. This smashes into his shoulder, paralysing his arm.)

ELIZA (Seeing the men crowding around Blandamour, she draws her short sword (remember that?) and stabs one of them in the back)

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR (He has alredy made history of the evil mage, so he sees th door burst open and is already in a posture of defense. As the men circle him warily, looking for openings, he feints at the one on the right, and, as the one on the left bores in, he deals him a staggering blow to the head. The other staggers as Eliza's blade enters his back. He swiches to this one as the first dropped unconscious. Soon, his blade runs him through and he drops, dead.) "Good girl, Eliza, that was a real help. Lady Galadria, wel-struck!" (He turns to help his other companions)

Seeing Raymond begin to shape-change, she softly scolds him,

"No...now is not the time for that. You'll just end up getting into trouble. I can't keep you safe from the paladins forever!"

She reaches an ungloved hand down and touches his head, sending him back into sleep, thus relaxing him and sending the shape-change into reverse. Looking up at the bewildered and silent attackers, she shrugged her shoulders and said...

"He's been...sick, I should say. But do not worry for him. I'd think the danger that is at your backs would concern you more!"

She winks at them.

[Cerek the Barbaric]

Addison could "sense" the thoughts of his attackers as they approached. He twirled his staff around and around over his head as he turned to face them. He then brought the it down in a sweeping arc to halt their charge and keep them at bay. The two men did slow thier charge briefly to avoid the staff, but began moving again almost immediately. They split up to prevent Addison from catching both of them with one spell.

And Addison was casting a third spell. He kept a firm grip on the staff with his right hand, bracing one end underneath his arm for extra support. His left hand was quickly tracing magical runes in the air. The men thouhgt to move in and disrupt the spell, but a quick feint of his staff managed to slow them long enough for the spell to be completed. Addison's voice rose as he cast the spell, until he practically yelled the last archaic verse. The thugs prepared to dive to one side or the other to avoid the attack...but it never came. Instead, Addison turned from the attackers and ran UP the side of the wall and onto the ceiling. He couldn't help but smile at the bewildered looks on the faces of the two men.

Addison had spent many hours learning to fight from this seemingly awkward position after he first learned the Spider Climbing spell. As expected, the two men were unable to launch any type of effective attack. Instead, they poked weakly at his head and shoulders. Addison merely "squatted" with his knees to rise up out of the reach of these pathetic jabs. Then he brought his staff to bear.

He resisted the temptation to slap both swords away from him. Although it would be easy to do, experience had taught him that, even in their bewildered state, the men weren't likely to drop their swords. So Addison concentrated on the closest of the two thugs. He DID use his staff to strike at the man's sword, but he quickly reversed his swing before his opponent could recover and snapped the staff into the side of his head.

It was a solid blow that stung badly, but wasn't powerful enough to drop the man. Which didn't bother Addison. He turned his attention to the second attacker and used the same basic attack. Again, his opponent took a solid, stinging hit to the face, but didn't seem too be terribly hurt. However, he was mad...both of them were, and they attacked the mage - as best as they could - with renewed vigor.

Addison used his martial arts training to avoid their attacks and parry their blows, slapping in a stinging blow when he could. The two men were completely infuriated now and were determined to bring the mage back down to the floor.

In their anger, they completely forgot about the two paladins that were standing nearby.....

As the two turn to see what is behind them, she brings up her staff, sweeping one behind the knees, knocking him to the floor, and jabs the end of her staff into his throat. She quickly kneels as the other turns with his sword, just missing her throat, the blade bouncing off the bracer, and she stabs upward, her sapphire-hilted dagger suddenly in his gut. She rips upward and rolls out of the way. Standing, her eyes glowing bright silver, she picks up Raymond, and sets him in a chair in the corner, setting wards around him, and turns back to the melee, finally drawing SpiritSword for the first time since she has joined these companions, yelling

"na' sgailean h'-orain!!!!!!!!"

Translation ShadowSong!!!! - This is a cursed sword, that steals the souls of its victims, ensnaring them forever in its blade, and turning their power to its own..... more on the sword later on.....

[Attalus]

SIR BLANDAMOUR(He sees the man turn his back to him and attacks, his great blade driving almost through him, killing him instantly)

GALADRIA(She takes the nearer of Addison's two attackers full in the back, so that the tip of the blade distorts the chain mail in the front. He coughs and dies. It is never wise to turn your back on a Paladin when you are attacking their friends)

The second attacker turned to face the more immediate threat posed by the lady paladin. He brought his sword up and looked for an opening in the lady's defenses. He never had a chance to find them as Addison landed a crushing blow from his staff on the man's temple. He was unconscious before he hit the floor."

OOC: Sorry I'm not posting. I'm kinda caught up in the family's birthday season #1 (there are two, in case you're interested )
Apart from that, I have to decide on one of three possible scenarios I had in mind for Legolas and Sorsha first [img]smile.gif[/img]
