I've got to admit it's getting better, it's getting better all the time

Moridin, the Carly Simon/Tom Jones thing is more of a visual thing for me than an audio one... (got to get THAT image out of my head!)

How about Rob Zombie doing the Jackson Fives' ABC

Slipknot doing Angels (Robbie Williams), or
Jessica Simpson doing Linkin Park's One Step Closer

LMAO!

In the foul darkness one figure will emerge to save the world from evil and despair.... Light flashes as his sword comes down, and thunder rolls through the sky when he points his sword up to heaven to signal his victory....People whisper his name as he walks by, evil tries to hide as they sense his presence nearby.... His name? Link......

LMAO!! That would be hilarious (think the growls from Freak on a leash going Mmmmbop mmmbop)
I also liked Milamber's suggestions
(actually I think TypeO did some pretty decent covers )

Anybody heard the Stones song Paint it black by this horrid death metal band appropriately called Deranged? Killed me with laughter! Or Light My Fire from the Doors covered by Finnish band Amorphis.

One of my favourite cover songs ever is Elvis Presley's Heartbreak Hotel by John Cale (there are various versions around). He actually manages to make the song sound so good it wrings out my heart and makes me cry!
