As people were getting annoyed with cricket being taked about in the rugby topic, I thought I'd start a new one just for the purpose of whinging about how bad the English cricket team are. One minute they seem to be doing alright. Then....

86 all out.

Come on lads we can do better than that!!!

I was thinking about posting after the Aussies innings of 212, suggesting we had done Ok, and might actually win. Nevermind eh.. the ashes are still there for the taking.

And those Ashes will be taken (ie, not left behind in Blighty when the mighty boys from OZ finally depart ). Donut was only pushing fun when he was talking about not discussing cricket on the rugby thread (like it wasn't his coat that wore my pint of cider now was it ). Anyway, don't worry, there are many more matches to go on this tour - maybe you will catch us on a sticky wicket somewhere, or be lucky enough to get our favourite Indian umpires over for a match or two .

Donut, I missed the game. I didn't think Australia batted too well, they apparently only got 208 on a good pitch and Hayden was out for a duck. They didn't even bat out their full 50 overs. I was a bit disappointed in their performance, to tell you the truth.

How did England bat?

I'm with you on this one PB
As Davros said Staralfur, I was only kidding about being annoyed on the Rugby thread.

An Austrialian friend of my father said that he thinks Rugby is like American baseball, but the players are all taking valium (not sure if I spelled that right, but it's a drug that makes one drowsy I think). Funny thing is that his wife loves the sport while he absolutely hates it.

Just posted a comment about English cricket into the rubgy thread (I hadn't spotted this one at the time).
Simple fact - cricket is not a sport to be played in the dark. England were poor, but conditions aggravated that. Would anyone actually choose to try and bat at night?
