Arrows

Is there any point in the game i can actually buy magical arrows such as fire arrows and get a better bow as all i have is the composite long bow and i am in Dragons eye?

The answer is yes, but the opportunity only appears in the middle stages of the game onwards. I found it was easier to slay the archers in any fight, though you must do it quickly before they use all the arrows they have.

In the Vale, I would hide my Ranger & Theif and then stand them behind the archers w/ flame arrows. The Theif would typically kill his right off the bat and once the Ranger starts attacking, the skeleton would switch to a melee weapon and not use any arrows. Thus I could get arrows for free.

In the Severed Hand, there is a lady who sells various arrows, bolts and bullets. I found it an excellent place to stock up.

Besides the woman in the Severed Hand, you'll have to wait almost
to the end for the gnomes. Make sure you remember the route through
the Severed Hand. I went back at least twice to restock and the first
time got lost a few times. You'll know what I mean once you get there.
Ammo management is one of the challenges in the middle of the game.

As far as bows goes, I don't recall being able to buy anything real great.
It might not hurt to take a short or long bow +1. The stats may not be as
good but you'll be able to hit some creatures (with +1 or better arrows too)
that you couldn't hit with a non-magical bow.

I typically remember finding a +1 short bow in the first level of the Vale. I believe you can find it throughout the Vale.

magical bows (except those that create their own ammo, none of which exist in IWD) do not make the arrows magical, or allow the otherwise non-magical arrows to hit an opponent only damaged by magical weapons
