Oh my god...you're actually holding that against them ? That's by far the dumbest argument i've heard in a long time.

Just on a sidenote....yeah, i DID see US national teams of all three sports in action, and actually...they have a pretty talented footballteam.

If you're German you did, the first Automobile was accredited to Carl Benz
Don't let google, be your only source, History is way cooler.

Several Itialians recorded designs for wind driven vehicles. The first was Guido da Vigevano in 1335. It was a windmill type drive to gears and thus to wheels.

The first vehicle to move under its own power for which there is a record was designed by Nicholas Joseph Cugnot and constructed by M. Brezin in 1769

A frenchman named Etienne Lenoir patented the first pratical gas engine in Paris in 1860 and drove a car based on the design from Paris to Joinville in 1862

Steam cars had been built in America since before the Civil War but the early one were like miniture locomotives. In 1871, Dr. J. W. Carhart, professor of physics at Wisconsin State University, and the J. I. Case Company built a working steam car. It was practical enough to inspice the State of Wisconsin to offer a $10,000 prize to the winner of a 200 mile race in 1878.

In 1885, German mechanical engineer, Karl Benz designed and built the world's first practical automobile to be powered by an internal-combustion engine.

It appears our man Karl was NOT the first to build a car!

No! I'm referring to the 'salute'. Age of Chivalry! The etiquette of the day dictated that, should two friendly knights meet, each would raise the visor of his helmet, show his face, and pay proper respect to the other. Since both knights were completely clad in steel, they could recognize each other as friend or foe by the distinctive emblems and devices on their armor - another custom that still lives. Etiquette also decreed that the knights salute with their right hands. The right hand was the sword hand; raising it was a sign of trust.

There are two things you must understand. With one exception, most of the free world speaks enlish. Now, hold your breath on this one. The exception is, Tada-America. We speak American english, so in all reality to your world, Yes we are Different.

We write a check in order to fulfill the purchase agreement at the store. The bank will honor our payment. A skillful shopper will purchase a good tire for their car. We may analyze, and criticize, but we need not always be at center stage. We plow a field without pajamas, and like to wear our jewelry. A few like to shop from a catalog, with a dialog, but others have an analog. A meter is just a bit more than a yard, but no need for an argument on the judgment of 3 mere inches.
Not to mention Canada plays American Football (with an extra man on each team), Rugby is rather similar to American football (at least compared to water polo), Japan is really into Baseball, Basketball is getting to be pretty big in many countries, just because it's an american originated sport doesn't mean it's not an international one as well.

We like to throw a coupla' snags on the barbie with a coupla' beers, nothing wrong with that. Sit on the couch, watching the West Coast Eagles thump (and sadly get thumped ) by other teams is also antoher great thing about Australia, but there is one bad thing about us.. Australia is the second fattest country in the world, and America first. It's weird how different we are but how close we can get, isn't it?

Also another note, England and Australia don't like using guns. Quite nifty with a baseball bat instead
