After finding Mook at the Docks, and watching her be killed, I myself am being simply slaughtered by Del and a couple of vampires. Nobody else has even mentioned this, and it is not in the walkthru, so I must be the only one having trouble with this. Could somebody please tell me how to get back to Aran after completing his first task- finding Mook. Del and co. are wiping me out.

Well, actually you have to kill the vampires too, after you speak with Mook and they kill her, thats what Aran wanted you to protect the shipment from
After killing the vampires you just go back to aran and report what happened. |

That's very strange. I thought the only vampire that appears at the Mook stage is Lassal.
Anyway, the amulet of power protects the wearer from level drain, so move the wearer ahead to distract Lassal while your other party members attack him using ranged shots/spells. |

Thanks to both of you- however, Lassal does not appear here- I get Del and two vampires, none of whom I can kill. I will try the amulet of power suggestion, however. Thanks again.

Vampires can be quite tough. The amulet mentioned above works well. Also if you have Korgan in the party, he can ge berserk, which means he is immnue to most bad vampire effects.
I often play an Undead Hunter which makes it easy as they also cannot get level drained, held or charmed. Finally, there is a spell (lvl4 clerics, I think) called something like negative plane. It will protect you (not for long though) against level drains and the like. best of luck. |

SPOILERS
> > > > > > > > > Make sure you also have your anti-undead equipment - for now, stick with the flame tongue sword (+4 against undead) and Daystar (extra damage against undead plus Sunray!) A very cool weapon against undead is about to come after you do Aran's tasks! Have these weapons ready when you walk around Athkatla at night! |
