Just finished a game of MM9, played just for the heck of it, and I did something new this time... something that was rather exciting in some ways. I got my Lich up to level 35 in merchant (master level), and people started paying me to buy things! Everything I bought at the store cost me a negative amount of gold, and I even got paid to train! Last rounds of training cost me negative 6000 GP or thereabouts....

Yah, it's an exploit, but from prior games, it's a darn nice exploit at the end of it all

Perhaps others have done this before, but I don't recall seeing it on any other boards. 'Course, it's been a while since I've looked...

Just thought I'd pass it along. Now, to finish a certain story....

Never know that bug before, then again I don't feel like replaying that game anymore.

Yep, that was my fix. Maybe in another year I'll be in the mood to play it again.

Haha! Nice one Bungleau!
I'll have to make a mental note to myself of your discovery for when I finally begin MM9. I've had it for awhile now, but its a bit further down on list of rpgs that I'm due to play.
In fact, I'd love to even complete MM1 on my c64 before I start it if I can. Have persevered in fragmented journies over the years alot with that.

I did take a quick look at MM9 and experimented with the character creation and just wandered around a little. Felt very alien compared the sense of continuity from 6-8...to which I've fond memories (in particular of 6) of completing.
I'm sure however I'd get used to it.
Nice work on finishing it again too, btw.
