I'm new to the game and hit an unexpected problem just as it was getting interesting...
In Chapter 5, on the scene of 3 caves, I entered the cave to go into what I beleive would be Dorn's Deep but the game failed and I got the following popup: An assertion failed in infinity.cpp at line number 1763 Programmer says Demand for WED file failed. I suspect this could be something I did in "Dalekeeper" when I set up the characters, but can't find anything. And if so, why did it wait 'til now to have a problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. So what did you do in Dalekeeper?
Anyway, .WED files are used to create the maps in the game. Reinstalling the corrupted .WED file might solve the problem. |

Hello and Welcome.
I think this is known bug with the UK version of the CDs, since you are from California I'm not sure why you have the problem. But if you search this forum, or the technical support for IWD, you should find a patch to fix this error. Good hunting

WELCOME TO IRONWORKS!!!
Now, just out of curiousity are you fully patched? As in have you installed HOW and TOTLM? Installing those may help the problem also. |

Gryphon, are you still out there?
Have you found the patch yet? M.G.

You guys are pretty fast for me. I just got off work (yes, on Saturday) and haven't had a chance to try the one patch I haven't already loaded. Should be able to try that tomorrow and I'll get back then.
Thanks for all the input. |

The UK patch worked like a charm. I bought the CD's online but had no idea they were of Brit origin.
Thanks a million for all the help! |
