Well, this may be just me but if i could, id use all if my lvl6 slots on lvl5 spells. I mean Chaos, cloudkill, Raise Death, Breach etc are just way better then most lvl6 spells.

O.k lets see, Stone to flesh.
The three times in the game that achar actually got stoned i simply used a scroll. Tensers then, well i wanted a fighter, i would have chosen one. I generally use mages for spellcasting. And as for deathfog, well if creatures are low enough a level to die by that one i can easily kill them myself. Also, since i always have Jaheira with far better summoning spells then any mage i really dont need them. |

You got to be kidding me... ... Lvl 6 is one the few Spell Levels that I debate endlessly for my Sorcerer... ...
Death Spell: Kills all creatures with 7 hit dice and less instantanously within it's radius. No save, save Magic Resistance. Protection from Magical Energy: 100% protection from Area of Effect magical spells. No more worries of Abi-Dalzim's Horrid Wilting and the like. True Sight: Must I explain this? Unless you have Keldorn, or use your Cleric instead. Chain Lightning: I love this spell, most people do too. Contingency: I always have this spell. It is very, very handy to have around. Misled: If you have read my ToB thread, you will know that this spell is totally awesome and totally cheesy too. To summarise, this spell means total invisibility which cannot be dispelled if used correctly, even by True Sight. Pierce Magic: Useful until you get the higher-level versions. These are the ones I always ponder over when I create my Sorcerer. ------------------ If not a Sorcerer casting total oblivion, then a Paladin meting out justice. Otherwise, I think I will just be a bard and torture my enemies with, "My Heart Will Go On". Platinium Sorcerer of ALSB, Aerie Loving Sacred Band! Yes Dreamer128 you're dreaming
6th level spell levels are the most CRITICAL spells in game such as Pierce Magic, Contigency, True Seeing, Disintegrate, Protection from magic weapons, Flesh to stone, Imroved haste, Tensr's Transformation, Death Fog, Chain Lightning. Not very necessary but invisible stalker is also nice ------------------ "Not for your eyes only, also for your beautiful ears.." Yngwie J. O.k, prot. from magical energy is good, so is misled. In fact i use them both on occasion. I usually have my cleric do the detection spells while my mage does the combat, anyway even when i had Keldorn i hadly ever used true sight but thats prob. just me.
Contingence is a laugh, one extremly low level spell wich you dont need since any smart tactician keeps his mages far away from the front. And Chain lighting simply doesnt do enough damage to do as much as tickle the hordes of tough creatures you encounter later in the game. |

I agree with you.. the only usable spells are Stone to Flesh and Pierce Magice (since I use my level-7 slots to Finger of Death and Reflect Magic)
