Why can't I wear my Ioun Stones....

I installed both the official patch and the Fix patch, but my Mage still cant wear those stones. I uninstalled the game then reinstalled BG2 and I only added the Bonus Merchants without any MODS, but the stones still say Not Usable by Thief, Bards, Mages..... Can u guys help me?

Which Ioun Stone(s) in particular are you referring to?

There are some stones that can't be used by mages. Which ones are you trying to equip?

The dusty Rose one and the one that u get in the graveyard.... BTW i've only got SoA.

Thats how its supposed to be in normal BGII.
The ease of use mod avaible at http://www.cs.berkeley.edu/~weimer/bgate/ease.html has a universal Ioun stone feature.

Mmmm. Your mage should be able to use both of these, I know for sure mages can use the Dusty Rose Ioun stone. I can't see any way to get around this, sorry.

Aha! I know what the problem is. On an earlier post, you were advised to download the Baldurdash fixpack, correct? Well, the part which allows mages to use Ioun stones is not included in the actual fixpack. You'll have to get it from here.

Scroll down to the bottom and pick up "Wormy Hellcar's Universal Ioun Stones".
