NPC's will join your party. They won't be the npc's you know in BG2. They'll be more like hirelings, as you will *not* be able to control them. I don't know the exact exp cap, but you should be able to go up to level 20. That should take awhile over the net.

Pretty sure you can't import your character.

NO, you can, your BGII char just starts at level 1 and without your BGII items.

And what exactly is the point of importing your character if you go back to level one and lose your items? I suppose your ability scores would be the same, but big deal... I had a feeling that importing business was bogus.

Yes, its basically a gimmick, but it needs to be that way I think at least for the SP game as most ppls BG2 chars are very high levels now. I don't see why they could let ppl import them into MP games where people want to design modules for high level chars.

" Your adventure doesn't have to end at BG2, you can import your char into NWN...blah rubbish!!!!"

Level 1!!! After reaching level 31 in ToB, casting things like grease and sleep will be awful!

Import? What's the XP cap in NWN?

Won't importing a BG2 character to NWN exceed the limits of the ability score system for NWN? Remember, in BG or BG2 you rolled the stats, where as to in NWN you simply distribute a number of points to the various abilities. No rollin whatsoever. This is for game balance, or something. So I ask, what will remain of your BG character? Even the classes have changed a bit with the new 3rd edition rules.

But, then again, who cares? It will be refreshing to begin a totally new character. But of course that's just my humble opinion.
