Does anyone know how Shadow Door differs from Improved Invisibilty? What can Shadow Door do that Improved Invisibilty can't? I was hoping shadow door would let me drop spells on the enemy without being seen, but that's not the case...Instead shadow door looks like a waste of a fifth level spell when it can be had with improved invisibility at a lower level...

I was asking the same questions when I cast it to ! Nothing else it is like improved inv but 1 level higher that's all with a visual effect that the 4th level one does not have.

Shadow door is more graphically involved.

I am prety sure The Shadow door thing is on of those, well It looks pretty on Pnp but we can't implement it fully in the game but let's put it in anyways. But the only major diference I can see, Improved Invisibility is a more of a combat defence you cast before hand. It has a casting time of 4
Shadow Door is more of a mage's: Shit, I need a quick escape!!! Shadow door has a casting time of 2 and will push the caracter alittle to the side giving the wizard a chance to escape. |

I tell you, if they are gonna put in Shadow Door, Dimension door followed by a potion of invisibility woulda been cooler. I tried shadow door and then quick casted them to get them outta my spell slots. Geez. What a waste of a spell. Doesn't do anything against anyone that can see invisible objects. Dimension door at least could help you to escape by teleporting you down the end of a hallway or something. Gold box series did them pretty good.
Another really cool item woulda been dust of disappearance. Talk about improved invisibility. Jeez. You could walk up to something and attack it and not be seen or heard, just felt. Truly nice. No attacks of opportunity. I saw it in the Book of Magic and just knew I wanted it back in the old PnP days. But when they had it in Eye of the Beholder II, it was awesome then too. ------------------ Protectorate of the OHF Death Waits 4 U ALL [This message has been edited by Tobbin (edited 03-29-2001).] |
