um well... Tripod's ok if you use their site builder feature (no pop-ups)
geocities... though they ARE reliable, one would suffer from pop-ups

Try Topcities.com:
http://www.topcities.com you can get 150 megs of web space, and a personalized name for your URL as well. That's where I have my Internet students create their pages. Cheers, -Saz

About webpages, I'm currently trying to find the time to learn HTML4. But isnt there some program that translates text to HTML? That would be so much easier.

Well, as long as you know HTML 3.2 then HTML 4 will be a breeze.
I found out the changes, and apart from a few new commands and changed ones etc. it's relatively the same to the type I learned. Phew! Oh yeah, that's another thing I hate about some site providers, including homestead, they have a site creator, which I find really restrictive, if I was ever gonna make a website, I'd do it with my own knowledge of HTML and (a bit of) JavaScript. I really find some of the things you can do very restrictive, if only their was a site that let you use all yo're own HTML. [ 01-19-2002: Message edited by: Talthyr Malkaviel ]
