Wolfie you traitor =P Surströmming is a (I dare say) delicious meal! Okay the smell may not bear much resemblence to that of a fresh roses on a starlit night ( ) but hey, you can always breath through your mouth , but the taste is far better than the smell!
My two worst meals would have to be "pölsa" (looks like puke and the taste is very similar) and sausage, not very keen on eating meat that I have no idea where it came from =p |

Hey, don't knock grits 'til you've tried them. With a bit of salt and pepper, a little butter, and some cheddar cheese they are delicious!
Now, I've never actually eaten pig brains as a solo item, but I do know they are included in potted meat, Vienna Sausages, and best of all, in canned bulk sausage, which is the single best breakfast food in existence. My friend refers to pig brains and similarly gross sounding items as canned beaks and butt-holes referring to their "left-over" status Bulk sausage on toast and cheesy grits.... Oh YEAH baby! But wait, this is suppose to be about gross foods. I've rarely met a food I didn't like. The only things that come to mind are spinach(boiled) and cranberry sauce. I'll have to say the eggs mentioned earlier with the nearly formed baby chicks are something I could never eat, and if I cracked an egg open that had one in it I'd probably vomit. Gee now my two food choices don't sound so bad after reading all this LOL!!! I don't know why, but the one that revolts me the most hearing about is Pritchke's rabbit soup with the floating rabbit heads in it . I mean, just something about a soup that has actual Heads in it is just...

BALUT, for those still blissfully ignorant is a fertilized duck egg. It is commonly sold with salt in a piece of newspaper, much like English fish and chips, by street vendors usually after dark, presumably so you can't see how gross it is. It's meant to be an aphrodisiac, although I can't imagine anything more likely to dispel sexual desire than crunching on a partially-formed baby duck swimming in noxious fluid. The embryo in the egg comes in varying stages of development, but basically it is not considered macho to eat one without fully discernable feathers, beak, and claws. Some say these crunchy bits are the best. Others prefer just to drink the so-called 'soup', the vile, pungent liquid that surrounds the aforementioned feathery fetus...excuse me, I have to go and throw up now. I'll be back in a minute.
