TES: DAGGERFALL

Downloaded this game from a web site 3 or 4 months ago. Am now just getting started into it and, of course, am having the usual beginners problems. Mine are compounded by the fact that I have no game manual. I am going to assume that the game manual does not come on the game CD, but rather as a hard-copy booklet. Is this true? If so, does anyone know where I can get a copy (FUNCO LAND???). I am also looking for a site where I may download the patch or patches for this game. The GAMESPOT site has some but it appears that you have to sign up for one thing or another to get them??? I previously tried the TES: ARENA but had problems with it that may have been related to my system - Conventional memory, insufficient or bad video chip, or who knows whatever - I can't really recall the specifics now. The same may happen with this sequel to ARENA but only time will tell!! My current version of DAGGERFALL may have problems with the save game feature - however, I am not sure of that as yet. This is why I am looking for a patch that I understand exists for a save game problem. THANX ALL!!!!

I used to play Daggerfall. I don't remember any manual coming with it but I will look around and see if I see one. I remember buying a game guide but I don't think that would be any help. I'll have a look/see.

I played the game, and still have it. It came with a small maual, though nothing valuable was in it. Have fun, but i must warn you, it has lots of bugs, the graphics are now old, it has TOO much freedom, but thats about it. Its a good game, but I never beat it.

The last known patch for Daggerfall was version 2.13. That fixed pretty much everything in the game.

Go to Bethesda's website http://www.bethsoft.com/ and check to see if they have the patch there.

If you got if from www.theunderdogs.org, that version comes with the latest patch already installed. (At least the errors I got from it were consistent with that version). Underdogs dont have a manual, but they do have a link to some extremely good fan sites that tell you almost everything in it anyway.

If you get really stuck post here and I or some other TES fan will try and answer - no promises mind. The FAQs cover it all anyway.

hmmmm - *tempted to reinstall it and try the patches* - one of the bugsstopped me beating the main quest :'( - hope these blighters fix it
