I got some extra, about a foot on the ground with 2-3 foot drifts. Get it while it's cheap and plentiful. Other New Englanders need not apply, you got your own!

No snow needed up here, we have as much as I want... none. Though we could use some below 0 temperatures, my hockey rink is melting.

I'll pass. Hard to ride my 10 speed in the snow.

Ugh this Blizzard did a number on us as well. 18 inches of snow (1.5 feet), was certainly fun shovelling the driveway and walkway this morning.

On a happier note, school is delayed for two hours tomorrow

Yes, my first blizzard since my Cincinnati days 20 15 years ago! It was just as I remembered it - annoying. Started snowing at midnight on Sunday morning and snowed all the way through to 6pm here. Classes have been cancelled for tomorrow, which sucks because it just means more bloody work later in the week.

I have a question regarding snow shoveling protocol. What’s the protocol when digging your car out of a parking lot (as opposed to clearing your driveway)? The plows that cleared the parking lot of our residential village basically piled up heaps of snow in front of all the cars when they plowed the centre of our lot (parking spots are perpendicular to the curb on on either side). So when I cleared a path for my car, I had to pile it (sort of) in front of and beside the cars next to me, because we were parked so close together. Is that how you do it or do you have to push it all the way to the curb (if cars are parked perpendicular to the curb it would be a massive pain in the arse to push it through that narrow space between the cars).

So what's the deal?

Do you plan on using that same parking space again? If not, then don't worry about it. As long as you don't prevent them from getting to their doors, no problem.

In fact, if you can get your car out, then just go. Leave the snow for the next poor schmendrick who tries to get into that spot.

'Course, it's been a long time since I've lived in a full-fledged city, and longer since I've cleaned snow. More current city-dwellers may have other thoughts...

I'll email it to you. Which port on my PC should it stick it in?

Hehe...thought of you guys when we saw the weather reports on Saturday. We lucked out up here and were just east and north of the worst part of the storm so we only got an inch or two of snow but we did get the winds.

Mems- if you can clear your car out, do it, but if you pile too much behind someone else, just hope they don't remember you/your car next time it snows! It's always a pain when the plows come in behind parked cars or even when they got across the end of my driveway. Not much else they can do but pack it so you have a chore getting out either way.

Good luck with finding parking for a while and with classes!
