Intel still owns stability and compatibility, AMD owns faster speeds (given both intel and amd have the same clock speeds) and price (way cheaper). well at least from what i have heard. nwo the problem is, AMD is overworked compared to P4, that's why its performance is a little faster, which compromises stability and durability because the chip of AMD heats faster and more than an Intel chip. So as everyone said, if you want cheap stuff that will probably also give you long term benefits, given you know how to take care of your pc, go with AMD. if you really want that big bang on your buck, P4.

i personally was a pro AMD guy, but now I own a P4 2.40b. wow. I am all for Intel now...

Hmm, seems like I'll be getting the Intel after all... they are both the same price (part of a upgrade pack and you get to choose which one you want) and I like stability over speed...

Personally speaking, I've had an AMD 2200+ system with a Ti42000 vid card for about 10 months now. When I bought it, it was close to cutting edge and it still handles anything I can throw at it.
