I never noticed that. I always swim and pick up the extra Experince from the water creatures. But that does seem weird. I think you can use shift to make the ship go faster though.

I am finding the story from Brinloch Roon more testing and interesting. Like fighting the centaurs for instance, my are they ugly! The Leprachaun is very tricky too. Anephas is a pain when you have to go past him often but there is plenty of storyline to follow and many tricky quests. Keep at it, it will become more interesting. That dragonspire was a real hair loss episode for me but worth it when I finally reached him. Don't lose interest it gets better!

Once the boat is stuck ...It's Stuck ...
If you have 'Vanish'....You can save... take the helm and cast 'Vanish'...Just keep reloading until you end up back on the Sea.( it can be quite entertaining )

#2..Skull Island, is north and east, of Talrik.

The maps in both screens, are Always oriented with north straight up east to the left..etc..

There's a few small islands between Talrik and Skull island, but it's the only large one, and the only one that has access points. The castle is on the west side of the island. IIRC ..the S.W. corner.

You can also use TELEPORT to get your ship unstuck. Swim off to the middle of the sea and Create Portal. Swim back to your ship, click on the helm and teleport to the portal location!
