Strange trap-related bug

The problem I have is that whenever I set a trap with my thief, the game either: stalls for quite a long time and then keeps on going, or: nothing happens at first, but when a)the trap is set off by an enemy or b)I put the mouse pointer over the trap icon on the map, it stalls and sometimes shuts the game and exits to windows. It's really weird, and it first appeared some time after having installed the game. I suppose it hasn't happened to anyone else, but there any way I could fix it? Maybe re-installing the game?

Are you playing the BGT mod? It has problems with traps on lower levels. Fixes are available at their patch site (just look for it on the TeamBG board)
If not, never mind just babbling about

Try the Baldurash fix. Also, do you have ToB installed? That might make a differnece also.

No, I'm not playing the BGT mod (whatever that is,forgive my ignorance

) and I'm level 20 so it wouldn't be that either. Thanks for the welcome
