At least everyone's okay, that's all that matters.
If I had a younger brother or sister, I wouldn't tell them to go home on their own.

I don't know but for even an 8 year old to go a mile away from home, i guess i did much more than that when i was around that age but still when i have kids i think i will be a very protective parent.

I don't know how you can say that you would NEVER tell your sister to go away - when you were 8! Unless you have a Brady Bunch-type relationship with her, you would be like all normal children and fight and bicker and have times when you really don't like her at all. Especially when you're 8 - 8 year olds aren't exactly noted for their responsibility and ability to see long term consequences of their actions. Of course NOW you can see that it is the wrong thing to do, but when you were 8 I would doubt you would always have been totally responsible.

Anyway I'm glad he's okay - it must have been pretty scary! Was Patrick aware he was lost? Hopefully he was totally oblivious and not scared at all
