I think there was a topic like this not too long ago. Let me search the link...
Now where did it go? Hm... Anyways, I don't do archery, though I think I would like it. [ 11-17-2001: Message edited by: Legolas ] |

I do shooting is that close enough? I've done archery before on a school camp, hit a bulls eye on my first shot. The bull wasn't happy. I couldn't sit down for a month afterwards!

I did quite a bit of it this summer while I was in America, but I can't do it where I live. A shame really, I'm quite a good shot with a bow.

I do I do!!
Unforently I think my bow already has a crack in it Anyone my adivice is always inspect you bow good, just like you would anything else you hold of value. Always take your time and make sure your stance is correct for the best shot. Always make sure your arrows are straight and the feathers arent twisted. I recomend Peep Sites if you use them, there the best IMHO. Dont get discorged if your not Robin Hood with your first few shots. My First shot was low of the Bullseye, but I think it was cause the sites wear all messed up. My Teacher says that I have a good stance, but need to work on patience. Oh well, Time is the best Teacher.

quote: When you release the string, try to draw the hand you're holding the string with back to your shoulder, waving it all over the place when releasing the string can put your arrows almost anywhere. Another idea might be to tighten your string more, if it's too loose then it also adds to your inaccuracy, but be sure not to tighten it too much. |

ive been doing archery since i was 8. i have a handmade 7' long bow but normally use a 60lb comp bow. i do not use sights or weights but i do like string silencers. last year i added horseback archery to my resume. amazing to think that the mongols had entire armies of them. scary.
