oubliette

How do I get past the umber hulks that come through the wall in the oubliette (lower dorn's deep)? My characters start attacking each other and I can't stop them from killing each other much less defeat the umber hulks.

If the only problem is the Umber Hulk gaze (confusion), simply stop them from being affected! Potions of Clarity do wonders, there are a few to be bought. As well, Chaotic Commands, a level 5 Cleric spell, blocks all Confusion spells, so stock up on this if you have a high-enough level Cleric. If you can only memorize 1 or 2 of these, give them to your strongest Warriors, and hold everyone else back while they take care of the Hulks. Clerics/Mages can support from afar with spells like Hold Monster, Dire Charm, and any damage spells you may have. Static Charge is always useful, and casting a few Skull Traps or Glyphs of Warding where the Hulks will pop out isn't a bad idea either. Hope that helps!
