Plenty of good Halberds:
spoilers * * * * * * * * * * * * * Halberd +1: Loot from Anarg, Fallen Paladins Quest, Temple/Bridge District Dusk Halberd +2: Temple Ruins, Shadow Patrick (Umar Hills Quest) Harmonium Halberd+3: Dierdrie, Adventurers Mart Dragons Bane +3: Unseeing Eye quest, Temple District, Beholder City Drow Halberd +3: Underdark, various locations Blackmist +4: Underdark, from Matron Mother Dragons Breath +4: Found from party ambush encounter, Underdark, on Boz IIRC Halberd +4, Wave: Forged by Cromwell, Chapter 6 Halberd +4, Ravager: Watchers Keep, ToB Halberd +6, Ravager: ToB, forged by Cespenar Best to wield IMO, is the Harmonium from Dierdrie since it grants +1 STR, using Dragons Bane against dragons, and eventually using the Wave in chapter 6. In ToB, you'll want the Ravager of course [ 03-08-2002: Message edited by: Jim ] |

quote: From the ones Jim mentioned, the one avaliable in chapter 1-3 non-ToB is: Halberd +1 Dusk Halberd +2 Harmonium Halberd (only if you have the Bonus Merchants) Dragons Bane +3 And if you're asking for suggestions for a class that is good with Halberds, my suggestion is: Make your guy a plain Fighter, or a Berserker. Give him good profs in Strength, Constitution and Dexterity. And if you have patience enough, you can roll the dices many times, so he also can be intelligent and wise. A good Charisma is not necessary, cause you can get a ring that boosts your Charisma up to 18 almost at the start of the game. His weapon-proficiences can be something like: +++ Halberd + Warhammer (always good to have profs in some blunting-weapon ) ++ Two-Handed Weapon style This should make a good character. see ya! |

I like halberds, but they pretty much suck until TOB. They do some damage, but not much more than the plethora of good 1H/Bas swords available... the swords are quicker and also allow the use of a shield.
