You may want to DL Service Pack 2. It does NOT cause *me* game problems, but some people have had game problems with SP2. Since it's not working anyway, go ahead and try that.
Also, isn't there a way to disable movies? You may be having Bink Video problems. I *think* you can DL new/latest Bink Video drivers.

!!!!!IT WORKS!!!!!!
YES, COME ON! I've now got it running in, although in a window, haven't yet tried full screen, and its set to 'my computer is an abbacus' in the config programme, I 'm now going to put the settings back up and see what happens... EDIT: NOOOOO!!! NOOOOOO!! Turned the setings back up to normal and it worked fine, then I decided to run it in full screen mode. Again it wouldn't respond to my commands, its as if it doesn't think i'm in the programme. So, I can run it in window...hmmm, not a very good way of playing. THe most frustrating thing is I think the game has been working all along, and it something to do with the fact it won't let me control the programme in full screen. I'll have to look more closely at the config and see if there is a promising box to tick. BTW, the Bioware website won;t let me on it in Firefox or IE, it is still working isn't it? It was yesterday when I downloaded the patch. [ 07-24-2005, 03:56 PM: Message edited by: Aragorn1 ] |

you said you're using a DVD drive to run the game? it may not be able to read the CD's. you could try going to the DVD manufacturer's site and downloading the latest firmware. or just use a CD drive.

The game is on DVD, not split over cd's like other versions.
All the problems seems to be now is the game refuses to acknowledge my commands in full screen mode, all i can do is watch the intro movies and then stare at the screen with single player, multiplayer etc. I can see the pointer but I cannot move it. It runs perfectly in window mode, with Baldurdash and Ease of Use installed. I think this is windows problem, rather than the game itself. I'll try and look for some general things about windows and games not running in full screen mode. Thanks for all the help guys! |
