In any case, for those foreigners who want to come to the Netherlands one day and hope to make themselves understandable in a certain language, English is pretty much the most widely understood by the Dutch population right after Dutch (not fluently, but better than nothing ). Though Frisian is the official second language. Don't ask me to conversate in that language, though... I'm from the South of the country. We've got our own dialects.

Arg Grobbel, that just hurts my eyes trying to read it [img]tongue.gif[/img]

As one of the southeners I am not able to speak Frisian as well, the best second language is probably English although some still have difficulties with it (remembers a friend on holidays: I want toe croasants in a tassie )
