Hepps... Seems like I have a little problem getting this one to run on my PC. I keep getting error-messages that makes little effort to help me solve the problem.

I used to run Win98SE and had trouble with the game doing CTD every time I entered the first door in Seyda Neen. So a friend of mine recommended I run Win2K pro instead, something I've changed to (SP2 installed as well).

Now I can't start the game at all, in fact I can't even enter the OPTIONS entry in the autorun menu. All I get is a message that tell me:

" has generated errors and will be closed by windows.
You will need to restart the program.
An error log is being created.
"

The change depending on what part of the package I try to run:
Morrowind - Morrowind.exe
Options - Morrowind launch.exe
TES - TES Constructio.exe

I've looked through the ProgramFlow.txt file and I get the following message:
"000816: Program Started
000816: Computer Name: Administrator
000816: Creating Windows
000816: Begin loading of archive header and invalidation of archived files
000919: Finished with header loading and invalidation
000919: Initializing Main
001020: Video adapter: Creative CT6941 (4.3.0.2100)
"

The numbers in front change each time I try to run the game, but the text remains the same.

I have updated all my video and audio drivers and I've installed DirectX 8.1 (the one on the Morrowind CD).
I have these specs:[*]Pentium III 600MHz[*]Win 2000 SP2[*]256MB RAM[*]Creative SoundBlaster PCI 128 (CT5808)[*]Creative 3D Blaster Annihilator w/32MB video-RAM (CT6941)[*]1GB swapfile (+13GB free on the install-drive)

I've double-checked all the specs and can't see any point where I should fall through. I've tried reinstalling several times, to different drives (but not to C: because of limited space).

Can anyone give me some helpful advice?

The clue is in your load file. The last entry is the video card loading(attempting to). So therein lies the issue. Are you running 32 bit color on your desktop? That's required for the game to run.

Just a friendly tip from the other side of the mountain-range:

You might want to consider springing for a new professor. 600mhz really isn't enough..

I have 1ghz t-bird, and I have to run at 640*480 to get smooth graphics (ehem.. yeah, I only have a geforce2mx, but still)..

Check the norwegian websites where you can order hardware.. I didn't pay much for my 1ghz, and that was ages ago..

Yup, running 32bit color-scheme like there's no tomorrow... ^_^
Anyway, if you don't you get a pretty clear message that say you have to change it.

I run 100MHz, so I'll try to set it down...

I was afraid there was something buggish about the graphic-stuff. Here is a more thorough list of spect on it just in case that's needed. If your suggestion is to update my driver then pleas refer me to a site other than Creatives site. Half of their files are corrupt or trashed...

Adapter Type GeForce 256, Creative Labs compatible
Adapter Description Creative CT6941
Adapter RAM 32,00 MB (33■554■432 bytes)
Installed Drivers 3dbgf.dll
Driver Version 2.00
INF File 3dbgf.inf (Gb section)
Resolution 1152 x 864 x 100 hertz
Bits/Pixel 32

Angel, thanks for the tip, but I have trouble paying my rent. Don't think a processor upgrade is what I should prioretize right now.

If your card is a geforce card, then you should be running the detonator drivers. Download and install the current driver from nvidia.com or go to www.guru3d.com and try any number of beta nvidia drivers there. The 28.80 driver is very good and I'm running the newest 29.42 driver.
If you're running win98 change to a default vga adapter after downloading a detonator driver. Then install the new driver. In winxp, uninstall the driver and then install new driver. Make sure anti-virus is disabled when installing the new drivers. I think this may very well cure your problem.
