A person can be told by the company he keeps..
So its no surprise that all the people around me that I get along with tend to be patient, slow and steady, because I'm pretty much a firecracker when it comes to a lot of stuff..
So I say a friend is someone that complements you so well, someone that completes you.

One thing I know about people though (especially girls in Singapore.. I can't figure out the way their friendships work) is that people you go out with all the time and spend time with are'nt always your friends.. Many girls I know, with their huge-ass groups of friends dont form very strong bonds.. so while they tend to have lots of company, its usually restricted to a same-school same-interest level, because they cant sustain a friendship where they dont see each other on a day to day level. The strange thing is, guys somehow tend to be exact opposites, because they form fewer friends that can actually withstand trials of time, distance and separate lifestyles. Guys rule

From my view, a friend is someone who can understand you, who can be loyal, and that as Arledrian said that is indeed one of the very important factors of friendship. Most of my friends are people that I can have fun things, laugh at the same thing, having same sence of humor perhaps.

And a friend that "completes" you is a very interesting point [img]smile.gif[/img] .
