Who else think's it's annoying to have some damn salesperson call you at 8 PM when you've got music running at the perfectly adjusted volume and maybe playing an RPG and then have to turn down the sound so you lose the perfect volume setting, and then, as you pick up the phone, you wonder: "Who might it be?" It could be someone you've been expecting a call from, a friend, a girlfriend, a family member, and then, you find out that it's just some annoying salesperson who wants to try to sell you something useless which you have no need for at the moment and never will have a need for either?

A very good argument for getting "Caller ID"!

You didn't have to hang up like that. I had to make my quota of whoopie cushions sold. Oh, I wasn't that annoying. yeesh

Cheers,

What? You Dont Have 141 Over There! Im Sure You Do Have Something Like That! Its Where you dial a number (141) In front of the number you're ringin so that it makes it an anonymous call!!!

As Rabbi Krustofsky Once Said: "Whats The Point In Ringing Someone If They Dont Want To Speak To You?"

Ha! But that's the point of Caller ID...if it says "unknown caller" we know not to pick the phone up!

Voice mail works great as well. I have a system I worked out with my friends and family. Ring twice, then hang up, and then ring back immediately. I'll know it's them and pick up the phone...otherwise, I let VM catch it. It's the telephone equivalent of a "spam filter".

Cheers,

My personal response to telemarketers is,

"I don't accept telemarketing calls, please remove my name and number from your list." I don't listen to anything they say. As soon as they say, "Hello Mr *insert incorrectly pronounced name here*" I hit them with it.

If they say anything else, I hang up. I try to be nice, but there is nothing I hate more than someone calling my house uninvited.

Have anyone read (and heard) the post "Attack on Taliban", that was posted sometime last week? BTW if you haven't, it is not in any way offensive or controversial - that is, if your'e not a salesperson...
