The "Windies" dominated cricket for about 20 years in the 70s and 80s...
Would have been a great time to support them, but now however, they seem a little... flat

I am particularly interested in responses from Donut on this topic.

Mmmm, looks like I'm being trolled. It would be rude not to reply.

The test series against the Australians is far from our minds at the moment. Tomorrow we play Pakistan in the second test of a two match series. We took the first by an innings. On a serious note there are rumours that there may be trouble during the match. Old Trafford, where the game is taking place, is only 10 miles from Oldham and there have been some serious race riots there during the past weeks. The match has been marketed as a 'home' match for Pakistan because of the large numbers of asians who live in the north of England. It is thought that far right groups may attend to stir up trouble. I hope I am wrong and that England go on to win our FIFTH series in a row.

Memnoch, your explaination of cricket has left me confused about a game that I thought I understood

That was the point!!

Hope it's a good game, against Pakistan that is, without any crowd trouble.

Hi Sir Tal. Please ignore Memnoch's ramblings.
This site explains cricket in baseball terms and may make things clearer and this one explains some of the strategies involved.

There are over 10,000 regular cricketers in the US.

That's four successive series victories LS. Please stand beside me and face the onslaught that the barbarians from the antipodes are likely to unleash against me this summer.

I am getting a little tired of Australia not losing, or otherwise being challenged. :|

I might have mentioned this already - we are on a winning streak. Four series wins. I seem to remember you lost the last series in India where you managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

If you mean that England haven't challenged you recently I have to agree. The coming series will at least be competitive. Unless the British weather saves you

AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
NOT CRICKET! PLEASE! NOOOOOOOOOOO (Homer Simpson Style)!

I've got a friend who's REALLY into this sport - bores the rest of us to death!

I played the game at school and once or twice on other occasions. I find that it's not a bad game to play, but not so good to watch

BTW I do keep track of the scores though, and cheer England on (patriotic duty)

See ya

I just finished reading a book that described what must have been a dreadfully exciting cricket match over about 7 pages. However, I don't think that part was in english. It sure looked like it, but I am pretty good at reading english and I don't think that was it.
