What would somone require a T3 connection for though?
I mean for me, my 56k connection cuts it for the most part. The only thing I miss out on is fast downloads on mp3s and game demo's. ------------------ "Watch your back" |

What about E1? That's the European version of T1...do they use that standard in Oz?
Actually, Memmie, either DSL or Cable Modem would work well for what you need. T1 is MEGA bucks, as Rikard says...$700 per month in Texas (which would be appx. 1050 British Pounds; sorry, I don't know the code for the pound symbol!) You can get close to that with DSL for a fraction of the price ($40-50 per month around here). |

T3???OMG...you're talking in the triple digit figures per month range, now! Easily! C'mon, guys, unless Memnoch is setting up his own ISP, there's no way he could justify that kind of cost (unless he's independently wealthy, and then why ain't you sharing? ) (j/k) |

However, apparently you need at least 4Mb of video RAM to qualify for DSL and I have already spent 45 mins trying to find out where on this @#$% computer it shows how much memory my videocard has. The system info that comes with Windows 98 is shithouse, to put it mildly. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Memnoch (edited 06-01-2001).] |

Go with the dsl, Memsy! I know it isn't always as stable as cable modem, at least not that I've seen, but as you pointed out, going to the trouble and expense of cable in your apt. doesn't seem worth it.
Amd Azurewolf is right. Yikes to that rent! Well, the view is to die for, I'll admit. But whooo, your rent is twice my mortgage payment and then some! And I'll own this place someday!
