Draconis? I take you can kill him while in human form. It's not so hard. As soon as he shifts, run to the stairs (where you have set eight spike traps) .

Tactics will mean little if we do not know your party composition.

I'll just say kill him for now
And above and beyond that, try to push his human form to behind the pillars on the left side of the screen ... if you manage to kill him, while he's standing behind those pillars, he wont be able to move once he turns into a dragon It's very handy, since you can pull back at any time and heal ... Be carefull though, leaving the area and coming back has the unfortunate result of him spawning right in front of you, not sure about resting. Anywayz, it makes the fight more doable, hope it helpz [ 10-17-2002, 12:02 PM: Message edited by: daan ]

Cheese. You it or not, its up to you.
Get yourself a high level mage (in theory a sorcerer, but you dont want to waste a spell on this so probably not worth it) capable of casting at least two level 9 spells. Spell one: Shapechange You can get this one in amkethran. Cast it, select illithid, and move on to spell two : Timestop Anyone who dosent have this one is in trouble anyway. Again you can buy it in amkethran if you have somehow neglected to pick it up yet. Casualy walk on up to draconis' human form, and careful remove all the grey matter from his skull. Since death by stat drain isnt covered in his script, he will now procede to die.

more cheese
spread out your party - capture his attention with summons or yourself/tanks pointing away from your remaining party on the sides IIRC like some other of the powerful creatures, dragons have innate stoneskins which can make your party whiff a whole lot of air for awhile a great strategy i found against this throughout the game was to arm one of my mages with the wands of spell turning {great item that} and cast simulacrum pre-combat and *poof* you have a free spell piercer/breacher you can lob away with in the corner {never mind a selection of spells} this strategy at the least lets your attacks get through [edit] oh yeah, make sure to cast true seeing too vs. his also innate invisibilities... but as dundee says, kinda hard to advise you w/o party specs... Are traps always considered cheesy? Or is there some other tactic involving them?
I remember having problems with him, too. I couldn't hurt him through stoneskins and MR, until I gave Firetooth to Sarevok. He felled him like a big chicken .

Firetooth???? I kicked his butt to a corner so he is stuck and.....i don't know what to do next I tried shooting him casting spells but they just bounce right off him. You see I have only fought and killed 1 dragon (well actually 2 when i turned the 1st one to dust but cmon I like to fight fair besides many of his items were gone) So my expierence with dragons is no well.
