Avarine Decanter

is there something called avarine dacanter?i heard that it can be bought
from the drow merchant nym in the wondering village and can get something
really good.is that true?what is it and how to use it?

Why don't you just buy it and find out? [img]tongue.gif[/img]

It can indeed be bought from Nym in the Wandering Village (buy it in time, Nym will be gone later on!) so if you can, I'd simply suggest you buy the thing and find out yourself. If you quicksave beforehand you can always reload if you don't like what you get. [img]smile.gif[/img]

But if you insist on being spoiled....

The decanter holds a Genie. I was told your best bet is to immediately release him, since that gives you the best reward. He'll give you bracers of defense +5 and IIRC, some other items too. I believe he also has some wares you could take a look at, but if you do that, even when you release him later you will not get the bracers.

I think that was included with the collector's edition of IWD2 only. I know it IS in Nym's inventory if you have the CE. [img]smile.gif[/img]

There were a few "special" features added in the Collectors Edition - like a cloth map, spiral bound rule book, and some extra game content on the cd.

I thought all of the extra cd content from the collector's edition was available either in the patch or for download by now.

If you haven't patched the game, try that - it might solve the problem.

Weimar's mod also puts the decanter in the game.

And yes, the very best thing to do is release the genie the first time you talk to him, without ever looking at his stuff. You'll get a very nice set of bracers. VERY nice

Click this link for the most recent official patch.
Click here for Weimer's Ease-Of-Use mod. It's a very handy tool that can make several changes to your game, but you can choose which ones you want implemented and which ones you don't. For example, it can make Oswald Fiddlebender's replies a little faster (in an ordinary game, his replies are lagged), it can fix some bugs, it can add the bonus items, etc.
