Good news, I just reinstalled W&W and I started playing again. I'm playing a solo elf wizard (no cheats, no reloads when things don't work out). Since I haven't played the game in over 6 months, my memory is shaddy. I'm not doing to bad, I've attained level 7 in Stone and level 3 in Sun prior to entering the Crypt.

Next move is to change to barbarian and by the time I'll enter the Serpent Temple I'll be a warlock ready to change to bard on my way out.

This new adventure will really help the new players of this game. For the last little while, I've been posting from memory which, like I said earlier, is shaddy. Now, you can rest assured that what I'll tell you will be recently verified

Pleased to hear it,Ryan, sounds like a challenge!!! Just one question:why change from a warlock to a bard? I love my warlocks!!
PS I don't suppose you'd know anything about why my game locks up (see my post on board) would you?

Here's why:

Wizard: Sun 3 (illuminate), Stone 7 (meteorstorm) - prior to Crypt
Barbarian: HP and lockpick - in Crypt
Warlock: Fiend 7 - in Serpent Temple
Bard: moon 5 - Second 1/2 of Temple
Monk: spirit 5 - Prior to Shurugeon (I might do it later)
Ninja: moon 7 - Prior to Shurugeon
Paladin: spirit 7, Crusade - while in Shurugeon
Ranger: Vine 6, Fletchery - Boogres
Samourai: Sun 7 - Stouts
Ninja: Dragon Spire
Assassin: West of Brinlooch
Zen: Cet's Pyramid

As for your problems, try the game patched and with a full install. Also, make sure you don't have any programs that call-up Windoze running (like msn messenger).

Just a quick update - I felt alone and had to brag

No really, things a progessing nicely in my quest. My character is now about to meet the Naga. He's now a level 6 bard (level 14 warlock, level 12 barbarian, level 8 wizard) and he's bad -in a good way that is. No, I didn't cheat. I only killed Rumphy once and I'm playing the game patched.

Surprisingly enough, I didn't die yet. Of course, if that happens, I'll have to start over and I'll change a few things along the way. My next move will be to change to paladin and head to Shurugeon. As soon as I get Crusade and level 7 in spirit, I'll change to Ranger then to samourai, ninja, assassin and zen.

I'm also happy to see that I remember most of the game and that I didn't mislead too many of you in the last few months.

Cheers and see you for the next update after the Boogre's cave.

Well, I'm about to enter Brimlooch and I'm a bit dissapointed.

Everything is going fine except for the fact that I had to kill Ereasmador . I was dum enough to find myself confined within his chamber without the Shroud. I tried to explain that I was the Chosen One, that I had taken the Oath from Nivius and talked to D'Soto. He just wouldn't listen. So, since I don't reload for simple mistakes, I was caught and had no other options... well, I could have gone back to town but I'm not that patient either .

Anyway, I'm now a 21st level assassin (I was 12th level before I entered the dragon's chambers). I consistently inflict over 200 damages per attack with my Sword of Purity (Sword of Argus blessed) and my Wakizashi of Peace (Wakizashi +1 blessed). I have over 200 HP and all my stats are over 21 (I only have one 24 though ).

I'll keep you posted before I enter the Great Pyramid.

Cheers.

Wow, nice character there. Got a couple of questions for you, if you'd be so kind as to answer. 1: How many hours have you played since you started this character and 2: How are you getting the gold to join all the guilds/buy all the stuff that you need?

I'm going to assume it's easier to level playing solo because you get all the experience that would be split between the members so Rumphy was worth like 6500 or so correct?

The gold is not a big problem. Once you've played the game a few times, you realize that even though gold is scarse in the beginning, you're floating in it by the time you entered Brimloch Noon. That's without cheating of course.

Most of my innitial gold was gained by killing monsters and picking up their money. Also, I roamed around quite a bit before I even started playing. My strategy was simple, you need to join all the guilds before you even start the quest. That of course is quite expensive. You're talking about 1500 gp just to join the 3 guilds + about 1500 gp in role changes. All in all, I played for about 5 1/2 hours before I started the game (no adventure reset).

Another good trick for the gold is simply to create dummy character at the inn (mules). Most people use them for their 200gp. I just use them for storage of items. That way, when one guys inventory is full with one type of equipment, I can transfer it all to my main character and sell it. It saves alot on ID before you get the skills needed. Finally, pick up every single arrow you find and every single potion... then you make money.

Most of my gold was made between Shurugeon and Brimlooch. Once I got the fletchery trait, I was set. I went and got the dragon arrow and started cloning. Then, every time you get into town, you sell them all but one and you bless it to your max. By the time you've entered the Boogre's cave, you should have your arrows blessed to level 12 and then you make big buck. I had over 45,000,000 gp in the bank before I entered Brimlooch.

I didn't buy a single item before I reached Brimlooch. I lived on the land.

As far as the experience goes, you're right, it is easier playing alone. Rumphy is worth about 6300 (to an elf). Since you're alone, you get all the XP's associated with an ennemy.
