Monks are pretty good in my opinion. They have good speed, nice number of attacks and speed factor, extremely high magic resistance which combined with certain items can make the monk immune to magic, good AC and their special abilities are awesome, fun in the long run and definately worth trying out

Yeah monks seem like a good class.

I'm gonna give myself some spells. "Regeneration", "Temporal Flux" (Which is immunity to Time Stop" and one more which I haven't decided yet. What do you think? Oh, and a themed item, which I also haven't decided yet.

If you're going solo - a monk is probably one of the more sucessful classes you could choose. The major benefit is a high magic resistance. As the levels increase your monk will benefit with lower AC and magical fist attacks!

Combine this with some awsome special attacks and high attack/move rate and you'll have a pretty powerful character.

Make sure you install the BGII patch. I beleive there is a bug preventing a monk from attacking certain monsters even though he/she may have +3 attacks with fists.

Happy gaming.
