Guys, has anyone else tried what I tried?. At the start of my second go at BG2, I gave my thief high pickpocket skills and got him to drink 2x master thievery potions. I then got him to steal all he could carry from the weapons and armour shops in Waukeens promenade and the slums and then sold them to the merchant in the thieves guild.
Would you class this as cheating?. |

No way. I did it with my Jester.
I also did it with a swashbuckler when I played a game with four thieves each specialising in one or two skills. Assassin: Stealth Swashbklr: Pickpocketing Bounty Hntr: Traplaying/Illusoin detection Dwarf Fghtr/Thief: Locks and trap removal. It's a great way to get heaps of money and great weapons without being Maximus the Gladiator on steroids. |

True enough. Made 60K the first trip and 40K the second. Not a bad days work.
My guy could actually steal from the thieves guild and then sell the stuff right back, thought this was too much like cheating though, surely the guy'd say "how many Silver Swords can there be?" |

Yorick,
How did you find the Jester worked out?. I'm often tempted to play with the more unusual classes but always seem to stick to Paladins / Rangers / Fighters/clerics etc. |

Stealing is not cheating. Stealing is just what thieves do, what they are born to do, what the have in their blood to do, what they can't help doing.
Being a honest person, I try and try to tell my thieve to stop that, but he won't listen to me ! |

Did you try selling ice to the eskimos as well? The female vendor in the bridge district works that way as well. I did the steal-resell with some serious items. Gets boring after a while though. Ended up with 200,000gp from selling things like the Holy Avenger and Red Dragon Armour again and again.
But like the filthy rich here what do you do with it all? Unlike the filthy rich here there are no Castles to buy or islands called Majorca to purchase, or even Bounty Hunters to hire to go to Majorca to capture escaped Skases. |

That's great. I have to click refresh all the time.
Finished work. Watching music videos on cable. The Scottish band Travis were just on. What a great record their new album is. Hey does anyone associate particular songs with games that they play? I get bored with the in-game music after a while and put on a CD or two. Mind you the BG music is very very good, but it'll be in the middle of a beautiful piece and the blasted battle music will come on AGAIN. Wish it was an option to turn off battle music so area specific pieces kept playing. |
