Welcome to the board samara to kill the mantraps/lillies you can use burning haze its REALLY GOOD on them if you dont have that yet use flamedrop if you dont have that then go get it!!! its a level 2 sun spell the storm spells (fire storm, meteor storm and ice storm) work really well to.

yeps, any of the storm spells (except Blood Bath) are effective against those irritating green salads . also, ANY sun spell is effective against them but i'm not sure whether Dazzle will affect them or not.........
anyway gd luck wif those mantraps!

I just defeated the 6 jungle lillies in the boogre cave by firstly hitting them with meteorstorm at long range then letting them hunt me. As they hunt me I wait around corners letting my mana come up them try to hit them with flamestrike or meteorstorm. As a boogre your magic is unreliable so you have to stay at extreme range. As they chase you they often separate or cant get past sticking points. If you get them alone you rush them & cut them into coleslaw with a big sword. If you can get in close they cant use their ranged attack.
Some rules; 1 Dont use a close attack on more than 1 salad.
2 Always cast your magic from long distance, your range is
longer then theirs.
3 Make sure you have enough hp when you close on them, they
will get a hit on you.
I hope this helps with your problem.

Welcome to the board, Samara!!!

Distance spells always seem to work best against the lilies and their relatives. For reasons I cannot explain, I always liked to rush them and fight them up close. That strategy works pretty well in a second game with the same characters but fairly useless in a first time through game. Hope you have toasted them by now!

Welcome to the WW Board, Samara!!!!

I hope you're adventures...up to now...have been good
....but you should.....'drop by more often'.....if you could...

The Mantraps/Jungle Lilies, in the Booger Prison, are tough....because they are hard to seperate.
How did you deal with the mantraps in the shire? (between Ishad N'hahahaha and the prison)...and...Exactlly which group are you trying to fight now??? The ones at the exit (just down the hall from Pris'Kiel'a)...OR...the ones at the Idol of Aku???

As Kev and the others have mentioned...'Storm' spells work the best, and Always stay as far away as possible...

IMHO...It's best to do the Idol of Aku first. There is No real advantage to being a booger.(unless you're trying to impress Willow) The high HP's are not needed if you can fight at normal speed...and you're spells, will no longer fizzzle.

After you place the 'Eye'...Run!!!(make sure they are chasing you) Go to the end of the hall, wiggle to the left and go through the doors. If you stand at the top of the stairs..(half way between the wall and the stairs). The Lilies stop at the door. You can just stand there and hit them, with any range weapon you have. (I did it yesterday with Iceball...Thats all I had, no bows, darts, bombs, etc)

If you Must fight the others first....Follow Kev's lead....Run Away, Run away!!!! and cast from a distance.

I do remember someone posting that they Lured them into the 'Shockers'. Of course this way...you miss out on all the XP.

Good luck...and Keep Us Posted!!!

Welcome to the boards, Samara. May your journey through the Gael Serran inspire the bards to rewrite history.

As people have said, salads like the Mantraps and Lilies are best dealt with from a distance. If this is your first time playing, you may not have the high-level storm spells to draw from, which makes using them a wee bit difficult.

But don't worry! There's an amazingly effective low-level Sun spell that can make life much easier -- flamedrop! Just cast flamedrop on each salad, and every round (until the flamedrop wears off), they'll take another point or so of damage. The damage isn't important, though -- what's important is that when they take that damage, they lose their chance to attack you. So you can stand safely in the distance, shooting with arrows and crossbow bolts, and periodically refreshing the flamedrops until they are all nice and crispy.

And as for losing the XP from luring the lilies into the shockers, I believe that if you hit the lilies at least once, when they die (no matter how), you get the XP. Perfect case for a hit and run, to be sure.

*edited to remove proof that I can't read...*
