ToTL before HoW ??

Gidday I went to Lonely wood with intention of playing HoW before ToTL but talked to Hobart Stubbletoes at the Whistling Gallows Inn and didn't realise where he transported me was the start of ToTL - so have been playing this a bit.
Is it OK to play ToTL before HoW?? and go back to finish off IWD?

You HAVE to finish TotL during HoW. There's no other way. Ergo, you cannot enter TotL if you went to the Ice Island( not Burial Isle) in HoW.

I already started HoW as such, and was transported to the start of ToTL. I have not been to Ice Island.
As I understand after finishing ToTL you are transported back to Lonely Wood - yes?? That would allow me to play HoW after finishing ToTL??

TOTLM is like a side trip. Once you've finished it, you will pick up where you left off in HOW, only with some cool stuff.

As a safety precaution, I always save a pre-TOTLM game. If you find you've gone there too early, you can always continue with HOW and save TOTLM for later (just remember to go there before going to the sea of moving ice).
