Wow, sounds like a good time was had by all, Dunda. Wellard, that sounds like a really gruelling ride, one that I, personally, would have done in my SUV with the a/c blasting. Maybe I could be y'all's C&C Center.

Tradesmen *rant* phone late last night that they wont be able to come and do the job today and tomorrow as promised. *fume* so I will have to change all my plans at the last moment and stuff up next week. I wonder if the tradesmen will mind if I am so tardy with the bill? grrr

You have my sympathies, Wellard. If there's one thing I hate, it's someone cancelling an appointment like that.
Earlier this year, we were scheduled to get our carpets cleaned around 1:30PM. The company called around noon, asking if they could head over since they were available. Unfortunately for them, we had a lot of stuff happening, and there wasn't going to be anyone available at the house until the scheduled appointment time. Next phone call was thirty minutes later, that they were going to be late for the appointment because they had an "emergency" that they'd had to run to take care of. Yeah, right. Like I can't see through that... When they finally showed up, I let 'em know that I wasn't pleased, and that they were not fooling me. They gave me some money off the job, but I can tell you it didn't matter. They no longer get our business, and we had used them exclusively for several years (under different ownership). With that kind of performance, the new owners are going to go out of business rather quickly, I think...

I'm finally back from no-internet land...didn't get any tobacco stripped this weekend, though, which means that I'll just have to do a lot more next weekend. I am ready for it, though...I just hate the smell of the tobacco plant.

Bungleau I would have crossed them off my list too. I'm sure bull**** is the first qualification some tradesmen learn.
The backbreaking work of a farmhand Ilander *shudder- not for me thanks* or is it all done from the seat of a comfy tractor these days? What exactly is done to the plant? Excuse my ignorance but farms are something I have only driven past from the suburbs to the beach.

Wow, back after almost 10 days and still the same cafe!
I'll keep it short-the Metallica/Godsmack concert was awesome (rotating stage, anyone?), and my Thanksgiving at Utah was equally awesome (good food, good snow). Stopped at Las Vegas twice, ate a 5am breakfast at New York New York on the way there, and a midnight dinner at the Cheesecake Factory in Ceasar's Palace. And now, WoW. Ayeee!
