I think a gentle female Welsh lilt with a terminal uplift.

Dick van Dyke got the cockney accent spot on!

Ooh I'd agree with that - made me cringe, although I love the film.
Gary Oldman is great though - he does sound just like a Romanian speaking English, and apparently when he speaks Romanian his accent isn't totally laughable (and according to Romanian friends I have the exact same accent when I speak Romanian)

Southern East Tennessee Hillybilly accent, followed by Australian and Scottish (though I can't as a rule understand what they are saying all the Time). I also agree with Larry on the female voice thing. I'd rather hear it from a female. Of course, all the ladies here would probably rather hear it from a man!

I could have nightmares wondering what your accent sounds like. Born in the USA, living in Australia. Ouch - that's gotta grate on the ears.

Didn't hear much of matilda in melbourne the other day. Mucho Swing Low Sweet Chariots though!
Why sing it now when you can sing it in November? OZ vocal chords are too valuable to waste on meaningless friendlies.

I love the southern UK accent to bits. When I came to America people literally hunted me down for my Irish accent, and the women were worse (or better ).

Aside from the "You don't sound anything like the 'lucky charms' guy" comments I guess it's a good thing .
