Geordie is a type of English accent. Epona is very right about "English accents being many and varied." There is alot of variety in American accents as well. For instance, I do not talk like a Yankee.

My favourite accent has to be Scottish.
I can't wait to go on holiday. Thanks to Colin Farrell the Irish/Dublin accent is very popular with the ladies.

Written: Alright mate, how are you doing?; Geordie: alreet man, hoo ye gannin?; London: Awri'ma'e, aahyadoin? Written: Do you know what I mean?; Geordie: Ye knaa what ah mean leik? London: Knahwah'I mean, ma'e? [ 06-28-2003, 08:28 PM: Message edited by: Epona ]

I don't know that I have a favorite...any accent that is from foreign land attracts me, but only with a female voice.

Anyway I think South African accents are really interesting to listen to (ie Afrikaans). And 'black' African accents if you know what I mean are extremely appealing. I'm sure there are regional differences and so on but I couldn't put a label on them so I'll just lump them all in together - all great! And Indian accents.

I can speak with some twenty or so different accents or voices (depending on what you want to call them). I've had luck with my Irish accent, but not when I'm near the UK; it just sounds weird there What I thought was an English accent has been labelled more Australian.
My favorites right now are Sebastian the Crab from the Little Mermaid and a somewhat Scottish/Irish one that I use for reading stories to my kids. I've passed myself off as being from some place else before, simply with an accent/voice. Britain, Ireland, Italy... the list goes on. And it includes around a dozen different American accents -- midwest, Texas, southern, New York (upscale), New York (tougher), Boston, California, Yooper... Lots o' fun, that.
