I don't think small aircraft are allowed in th greater D.C. area, sans 9/11.

I'd say! if he wants to kill something send him off to his death in some middle-eastern desert to pick off alqueda and what-not, i'm sure he'd have a hoot of a time... Not a problem! I was about to post a new message when I saw the breaking news This Morning. Man, they really dropped the dragnet over that area FAST! (Which is good, but they gotta be faster) and not only search for a white van. I'm sure he is watching the news, and 'gets off' on watching people talk about his 'work'.. sick. very very sick. He thinks (in his twisted mind) that he is a star or something...

I hope the Secret Service or FBI snipe HIM in both knees. keep him alive. a quick death is too easy for him--life in prison is MUCH worst.

I say that this is not some angry white male like all the networks and papers are hoping. I say it's a muslim. We know they have been practicing with firearms.

I say it's an ex-member of the US armed forces. They've been practicing as well.

Maybe it's an ex-member of the US armed forces that has converted to Islam? Or a muslim who joined the US armed forces to learn how to snipe and then quit? The two things aren't mutually exclusive. And if it's terrorism then there's a good chance that it's the Al Qaeda, and to the best of my knowledge they're all muslims.

11/9 was NOT performed by Muslims. The Muslim religion forbids the killing of innocents, and so these people were changing the code to achieve their goals. It's quite important, IMHO, that people do not link Al Qaeda with the millions of innocent Muslims around the world.
I'll have to agree with Z on this one; no death for this guy. I say let him loose on a 800 metre field and have a few Delta Force members target his feet with rifles.

I'm not so sure the guy's a pro, from what I've heard most of the shots are made from about 150-200 ft range. I can make that shot with an open sighted .22 riffle, and I'm an old fart that wears glasses. Damn near any 12 yr old that hunts could make that shot. In 150-200 ft the bullet won't drop much if any, wind will have little effect on on a .223 round at that range. A pro could make the shot 500yd-1200yd (1500-3600ft) range.
I don't think it's Mideast terrorist, not their style they like the grandous, big leadline, one time attack. ie: bombings, shooting automatic weapons into a crowd, for max effect. They don't want to get away, they want to die so they can get their 70 virgins.
