That's what I like about LAN-parties: you get to see the animals in the wild and in their natural habitat

Seriously, how fast some kids out there play QIII or UT2003 or even more so, starcraft!! It's frightening! I would play against some kid and get the 'Nuclear Launch Detected' warning while my first zealot came runing outta the gate ...

Hmmm I don't disagree with pro-gaming on any level, it's just that it's damn unhealthy! I know after I've played a fast game of UT for an hour my eyes hurt and my head is spinning. Watch someone's eyes as they play a 3D shooter and you'll see them jumping around, darting from place to place on the screen - this is very damaging and tireing for the eyes! Imagine doing it for a full-time job! I wouldn't be surprised if they all go blind and get chronic migranes! It might sound like fun, but even a normal computer-based job is more healthy because your eyes are jumping around erraticly.

Damn I really need to get rid of this gay avatar...got loads of spamming to do

I don't see it as too much unhealthier than working for a software company and staring at the screen all the time.

Which is more 'stupid': playing a game for a living, or paying to watch someone play a game for a living?

There is no such thing as a 'normal' job. People make their way through life by whatever means they can. This kind of versatility is what has made our species so prolifically successful. In the immortal words of Tyler Durden: you are not your job.

Heh, wishful thinking. Most people do not have a choice and really *are* their jobs.

anywho just becuase your sit at a compuer most of your days playing games (like me) doesn't mean you'll necessarily get migranes (like me) and your eyes will start going (like me) and you'll be thin and pale (like me)...
erm.scratch that......
