Darn! Drat! Rats! Argh! Barf! Gag! Nag! Frag! Egaaaaaaaaaads!!!

Well ... I'm glad to get that out of my throat. I just finished sending off my hard earned tax money to the IRS. I would like to use stronger words but this is a family forum. From what I've seen, some people don't think so.

So, if you feel like venting about doing your 2001 taxes, please post them here.

Well my tax year is not to bad once again I am going to get some money back this year not alot but a little. But what gets me is that when I do my tax return If I do it with my wife's income I get only a little back. Then I go back and take her income out it jumps up thousands. I am still trying to figure this one out.

We (wife and I) got money back this year, mainly because I got laid off for 4 months in 2001. Actually, I would rather have had a job and had to pay something back. Unemployment Benefits don't really pay a heck of a lot. It helped to have them withhold taxes from the checks, though.

I don't mind taxes in the slightest, and I wouldn't mind their increase--if 1) government was run more transparently; 2) access and influence was kept on a level playing field.
