The adventures of Cang, evil elven female mage (storyline spoilers)

Just out of curiosity, as I forgot if 3rd ed kills off a point of CON permanently on familiar death, do you have any constitution left? It seesm you're loosing familiars left and right [img]tongue.gif[/img]

It doesn't take away constitution. Otherwise I'd be negative a long time ago.

Events had moved fast from when Cang decided to participate in the ceremony. But first she had tried to complete Oleff's mission. But she found that she wasn't able to use the items she had been given and furious decided to just abandon the quest and went and killed a lot of the stupid town guards. It was much easier than some time ago. She seemed to be getting enough experience for this stuff.

She then went back to Aribeth and agreed to begin the ceremony. She had been thinking of stealing the remedy and asking for a ransom for it, but it seemed that Desther and Fenthick had thought of it first.

A lot of dead undead later Cang entered the temple of Helm from the entrance below. The little kid playing shopkeeper was a welcome sight as Cang emptied her bottomless sack. The undead and false followers of Helm on the lower level did not pose a serious problem although Niamat and Tomi died a few times, but the spider summonling took her through. There was a particularly large encounter after which Cang was filled with pride since her one fireball had killed about six or seven enemies alone.

Fenthick was found on the stairway up and although Cang wanted to kill him, somehow he managed to convince her that Desther was the one who needed to be killed. She ascended the last flight of stairs walked along a corridor, opened a door and... nearly died. The gaze of the Bodak was something she had not previously witnessed and it wasn't too good. She was left alone with Tomi afterwards as both the spider and Niamat were killed. Quickly summoning them back and casting Isaac's magic missiles won the battle however. The next room only contained a ghoul and two skeletons who quickly died.

The main chamber however did pose quite a threat. Three fireballs and an Ice Storm later however most of the opponents were dead. Only Desther and two spirits remained. Desther had however killed Tomi and the spider and was threatening to kill Niamat also. While healing Niamat occasionally Cang killed the two spirits with fire arrows, poison arrows and magic missiles.

However that left her nearly spell-less against Desther. While she fired away three negative energy rays at him, Desther used his last spell to kill Niamat. Then it was the mage agains the cleric in melee combat. However Cang had one item and one spell which gave her the advantage. The belt which made her resistant to Desther's attacks and stoneskin. A long time later Desther gave up. Although Cang wanted to kill him she decided that it wasn't worth the loss of time and just took him to get his punishment from Aribeth.

I'm sorry for not having updated this story in a long time as I have been really busy with uni, among other things. And it looks like this shall stay like this for some time. I have not abandoned this project, so sometime in the future I shall be updating it.
