I've focused mainly on the toolset and playing, but I've given it a go, and it's good once you know the functionality - and most mods will not need DM intervention when they are put together as standalone SP adventures. Where it is useful is:

1. Where you don't know how to script, you can act out whatever you couldn't script using the DM client - just make sure the pizza delivery guy doesn't come at a crucial moment in the adventure;

2. Allows you to make things up on the fly (monsters, treasure, etc) and to possess any NPC (or PC I believe) during the game, so you can talk through them.

Well that sounds like it could be a lot of fun!

I have heard that you could possess a PC, but whenever I was loading up THE DARK RANGER'S TREASURE and cast a spell of monster summoning, then tried to possess the monster, it said that you could not possess PC's or the characters they controlled. I accidentally clicked on possess when a PC came into my game and I was trying to possess a Balor I created with the DM tools, but it said the same thing. Maybe there is another way to do it, but I haven't seen it. What I think people are getting confused about, is that sometimes when a game is really busy (lot of action), it will lose it's place and sometimes put other characters in charge of other characters (or even monsters). I say that because I was in a game online and was fighting a Storm Giant and some other bug type creatures. During combat rounds (there were 6 of us), somehow, I became one of the bug creatures. Then, I jumped and was a storm giant. Lastly, I became one of the other PC's. Not sure why that happens, but it was really weird. Eventually, the game timed out and I ended up having to close down the program. Tried to go back, but if that happens, usually your CD key is still in use. Sometimes takes up to 5 minutes for it to clear up. S'kinda cool that you brought that up. In case anyone didn't know.

I like it, It lets you run the world while also torturing the players, or letting them get through the quests more easily. It's like a live version of the toolset without any customization and just creation of what has already been done... but it's still fun, and allows one to communicate to the players without scripting, so you can really make some interesting adventures...
