Today I got this email, it's a new twist on the Nigerian scam, it assumes a lot, first of all that I'm dishonest enough to send a person I got a "incorrect" email from my information to get a credit card and that anyone would actually do "business" to someone who loses a important business partners email... Any here goes... Quote:

Mebbe them scammers really be good guys, and whenever they cause something bad to happen, they edit the mails they're sending to make fake-nes even more obvious, so that it won't happen again...

Sounds more like a hoax than a scam. A scam would ask you for some kind of account or CC information. Maybe they'll try and get that from you later?

I've gotten those, too, Jorath, but nothing like you received content wise. I'm still getting them from "Nigeria" in two flavors: 1) I am a former official of our country's former President... and I got all this doe and you acan help me out... blah, blah, blah, and 2)I a a pastor and we got this money and I need a place to secure, and how God directed us to you, blah, blah, blah. The last one I replied to stating it sounds like it is Satan talking here and not God.

This one is a case where someone's trying to play on your voyeurism and greed. You're getting a glimpse into someone else's conversation, and they're hoping you try to sneak some of it for yourself.
And perhaps, since it wasn't addressed to you, they feel it will afford them some protection if the case goes to court. After all, they never solicited you directly... you just foisted yourself on them. Cool! I got to use "foist" in a sentence without sounding like Curly from the Three Stooges!
